Social Security Expanding “Compassionate Allowance” Fast Tracking

The backlog of Social Security Disability applicants continues to be a serious problem for disabled persons living in cities like Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach. Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue has instituted a “Compassionate Allowance” list of 88 conditions, which quality for a streamlined hearing process. Hearings are being held by the Social Security Administration to include debilitating cardiological conditions to the list.

There are many conditions which should be presumed disabling, with the burden on the Social Security Administration to prove a residual functional capacity.
